raising funds for work in the gardens.
We are a group of local residents focused on maintaining and improving the Mall Gardens and our local environment.
Initially formed to help re-instate the missing railings and damaged coping stones around the middle garden. The MGRA is actively involved in keeping residents informed of proposed changes and giving them opportunities to put forward what they believe should be done with this public space.
The MGRA provides a recognised channel of communication and means of representation with Bristol City Council, the Police and traders for the purposes of monitoring planning, traffic, public order and other matters of interest or concern to residents.
Although the three gardens are a registered town green, owned by the city council, the MGRA have had a longstanding role in monitoring the work in the gardens and making representations about that provision. We work in conjunction with council gardeners and officers to ensure these gardens are safe, well cared for and appropriate to the needs of residents.
As the gardens continue to develop and changes take place in the surrounding area, the MGRA strives to act as a voice and resource for the local community.
